you said you liked my poetry
so I came to a picture
at the crossroads in your mouth
you try eyeing beyond
that flower
and see what tastes like red
sweet words and sweet release
this caged beast
pressing fences with force
bringing the ringing back into my ears
trying to dislodge this splinter of melancholy
pinched free in twanging tweezers
a jive and jab seizure
and fell asleep hoping for dreams of pleasure
